Romanticism is generally dismissed as kitsch these days, which we consider a fallacy, for it is precisely our jaded society that needs good romanticism. Good love poetry. Good darkness. Realism and naturalism, and indeed the now-severe cynicism of postmodernism and its offspring, are no longer enough to make the wonders of life palatable to us. Pain and darkness, fear and death, intoxication and excess are also an integral part of life – a life that is partly joyful, partly sorrowful, partly meaningless, yet also wonderful. We seek to reveal this through poetry and philosophy. Through new romanticism!”
