BERGAMA STEREO

In the architectural installation with sound *Bergama Stereo*, Istanbul-based artist and musician Cevdet Erek draws on the form, historical function and enduring history of reception of the Pergamon Altar, now located in Berlin, to create a reinterpretation of this significant Hellenistic monument from the 2nd century BC. The surviving fragments of the altar were transported from their original location in what is now western Turkey to Berlin at the end of the 19th century.
