manege für architektur is a new German-language architecture magazine that is dedicated, independently and with passion, to the pressing issues of our time; it offers ideas for shaping the future, explores new directions with wit and meticulousness, and brings together perspectives from around the world.

manege für architektur offers writers a space for the presentation and publication of architectural masterpieces. Within this space, the contributions unfold, each maintaining its own character whilst simultaneously establishing connections with the other texts. These connections are not explicit; they are intended to cater to the fundamental joys of human existence: discovery and recognition.

The editors Florian Dreher (*1977), Hannes Mayer (*1981) and Katharina Sommer (*1982) were responsible for the journal archithese until 2014. They then decided to conceive their own journal: uncompromising, independent of publishing structures, economic interests and traditional convictions. A magazine that does not view language as a mere means of description, but emerges from the interplay between authors, the editorial team and graphic design. A magazine whose content does not serve to entwine itself around advertising, but thinks about architecture with precision.

Thus, ‘Die Manege für Architektur’ is a space of freedom that facilitates criticism and discussion, and thereby enables alternatives for architecture and urban planning.
